Hi Members,
The Queensland Government is seeking feedback from all types of rehoming organisations as part of the plan to implement stronger laws to better protect the community from dangerous dogs.
This short survey is open to all residents of Queensland; however, a response from all types of rehoming organisations, from rescue groups to Not For Profit shelters, will have an impact on their review of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008.
We encourage you to read the Discussion Paper - Strong Dog Laws: Safer Communities before completing the survey as it provides background information on dog attacks, outlines issues and proposed changes to the Act.
The survey closes on 24 August 2023. Please feel free to share the paper and the survey with your friends and colleagues in the sector!
If you have any feedback or further questions, please get in touch with us at members@petrescue.org.au.
Thanks,
The PetRescue team
